As a volunteer at the Haarlem-based NZH Museum, Peter Günther built up an archive of historical photos of the "Waterlandse tram" that ran until 1956. The photos in the archive are predominantly black and white. Günther has focused on digitally coloring the photos based on examples of color photos from that era. The result is a true-to-life nostalgic journey through Waterland. The Waterlandse tram includes the electric NZH tram line from Amsterdam-Noord via Broek in Waterland and Monnickendam to Edam and Volendam, and the line from Het Schouw to Purmerend. The photos are a source of inspiration for every model builder who takes the Dutch polder as an example.
